Hazmat and Large Shipment Addendum
This Addendum applies to orders containing hazardous materials (HAZMAT), regulated substances, and/or containers exceeding one (1) gallon in volume.
1. Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Disclosure
Certain products sold by Kemistry may be classified as hazardous materials under U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), carrier, or international shipping regulations. These may include, but are not limited to:
Alcohol-containing ingredients
Certain solvents
Fragrance materials
Preservatives or chemical raw materials
Flammable or combustible liquids
Hazardous materials shipments are subject to special handling, labeling, documentation, and carrier restrictions.
2. Shipping Restrictions & Carrier Selection
HAZMAT items may require ground shipping only
Air transport may be restricted or unavailable
Kemistry reserves the right to select the carrier and shipping method required for compliance
Shipping timelines for HAZMAT orders may be longer than standard orders.
3. Additional Fees
Orders containing hazardous materials or large-volume containers may incur:
HAZMAT handling fees
Special packaging charges
Additional carrier surcharges
These fees may not be included in standard checkout rates. Customers will be notified if additional charges apply prior to shipment.
4. Large-Volume Containers (Over 1 Gallon)
Products shipped in containers exceeding one (1) gallon may require:
Reinforced packaging
Secondary containment
Freight or palletized shipping
Kemistry is not responsible for minor cosmetic damage to containers (e.g., scuffing, denting) that does not affect product integrity.
5. Freight Shipments
Large or bulk orders may ship via freight carrier.
For freight shipments:
Appointment delivery may be required
The customer is responsible for ensuring access to the delivery location
The customer is responsible for unloading unless otherwise arranged
Failure to accept delivery may result in additional fees.
6. Temperature Sensitivity
Hazardous materials, liquids, and large-volume products may be sensitive to:
Heat
Cold
Transit delays
Kemistry is not responsible for changes in appearance, viscosity, or consistency caused by temperature fluctuations during shipping.
7. Regulatory Compliance Responsibility (IMPORTANT)
Kemistry ships hazardous materials in compliance with applicable shipping regulations at the time of shipment.
Customers are responsible for:
Ensuring they are legally permitted to receive hazardous materials
Complying with storage, handling, and use regulations upon receipt
Following all local, state, federal, and international laws
Kemistry is not responsible for customer non-compliance after delivery.
8. International HAZMAT Shipments
International shipments containing hazardous materials:
May be restricted or prohibited by destination country
May be delayed, refused, or seized by customs authorities
Kemistry does not guarantee international delivery of HAZMAT items and is not responsible for customs-related outcomes.
9. Damage, Spills & Leakage
In the event of a damaged or leaking shipment:
Contact Kemistry within 5 business days of delivery
Do not dispose of materials until instructed
Provide clear photographs of packaging and product
Kemistry reserves the right to determine resolution on a case-by-case basis.
10. Acceptance of Risk
By purchasing hazardous materials or large-volume products from Kemistry, customers acknowledge and accept:
The inherent risks associated with shipping and handling
Responsibility for proper storage and use upon receipt
Compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements
